The catalyst that started it all: this event was whimsical, fun, and a precious moment for the mom-to-be. Since she didn’t have any nursery decor picked out, we chose a theme that was neutral and adaptable — A.A. Milne’s original Winnie the Pooh. I took artwork from the book, which we bought as a gift for her, and printed it in large format on a gentle material that would not damage the walls. This material also lended itself well to being moved directly from the venue to her nursery! On the tables, we ran boxwood garlands with small snippets of the text and illustrations, to further immerse guests in the story. Glimmers and glints of Winnie the Pooh appeared everywhere, from picnic baskets in the windows to labels on the food. Though it was my first experience with a corporate event, it was a joy to design, organize, and produce; I learned so much through this event and have been excited to make magic like this ever since!
